Did you bet I would rewrite The Album?
If you’d told me when I was writing last week’s newsletter that by the time I wrote this one, I’d have rewritten The Album, I’d have told you that you were crazy.
But, I’ll explain eeeeeverything in the Cruise Control update. Oh, and there’s an actual Cruise Control symbol, now, guys! đ±

CRUISE CONTROL
Oh. My. God.
Look, guys! It’s a Cruise Control logo! I can’t even believe it. So, I love, love, love my readers. There are some of you who get so into the Cruise Control world, and this logo was created by someone like that.
B took the thing that was in my head, and made it a reality, when I didn’t even know what was in my head. My exact words were, “I don’t know what it looks like, but I’ll know it when I see it.”
Let’s all take a second to appreciate the fact that Sebastian convinced the rest of the band to use a guitar for their logo because of course he did. đ€Ł
Hayden was the one who drew the initial logo, though. Eventually, when they became famous, they had a ‘proper’ version created. But, this is the same logo they created when they were teens.
I haven’t yet discovered the way the band was named, but I’m sure I’ll find out when I continue to write Sebastian. Some things I just know, other things I need to place them in a setting to find out. Looking at this logo, though, I knew immediately that Hayden was the one who drew it.
Anyway, moving on…
GABRIEL’S ALBUM – GABRIEL AND ARIANA
Oooooookay. So. I’m meant to be writing Gabriel’s Album, I know. I picked it up after finishing all my editing last week and…I struggled. The problem was, well, there were a lot of problems.
Remember the awesome reader who created the logo? (You know…the one you read about five seconds ago! đ) Well, she had some feedback on The Album. Ways that it could be greatly improved.
The catch is, of course, that Gabriel’s Album has to match The Album. So, I needed to do the thing I’ve been putting off doing for months and months. I needed to fix The Album…again.
Well…I say I did it, but I could never have managed it without B’s help. She helped me look over it and gave me feedback on improvements, ways to make it more accurate for a big arena tour, while keeping it in line with being the band’s first big tour.
The good news is that, unlike the first rewrite, it wasn’t a massive change to the way the entire story was told. So, I’ve been able to simply upload it as a new file under the same record on Amazon. That means anybody who already bought The Album can read the updated version without having to buy it again.
I don’t know if the update is available to people who already have it, yet (I have to notify Amazon, and it can take 7 days for them to process the update), but it’s available here. Any new purchases get the new version, but hopefully the update to the file for people who already have it will come through quickly!
So, if you haven’t already got this book…go, get the version that’s better than last week’s version, I guess? đ€Ł
But seriously, that’s it for rewriting The Album. Never again! Now that it’s finalised, I’ll be sending the manuscript to the narrator so she can record the audiobook, at which point it’s set in stone.
I’ll write a blog sometime in the next day or two with more information…yes, folks, this is the short version of this story! đ
THE BABY – LITA AND SEBASTIAN
Oh, my gosh, November 18th is fast approaching! I finished writing the chapter headings last week, and I might had shed more than a tear or two on the last one. Today, I finished re-listening to it on the Voice Dream app.
I’m so, so happy with it. It’s off with the proofreader as we speak. So, that being said…on Friday this week, I will send the advance reader copy out to the people on Team Cruise Control!

Okay, sad news for this one, guys. Say goodbye to this cover for a little while. It’ll return probably in early December. I wish I could explain properly why, I really do. Although, if I could explain properly why, then I wouldn’t need to do it. đ

There’s no good way of telling you my reasoning without saying either too much or too little. All I’ll say is that I realised when I was writing last week’s chapter for Sebastian that…I was adjusting it.
There were things I didn’t want to write and put out there until later, so some reactions and responses and dialogue were being changed from what I should have been writing.
I truly didn’t expect the YA novel to conflict with the adult novel when I started writing it back in June. We’re so close to the release of The Baby and I neither want to spoil that for you nor write Sebastian’s young adult story differently to avoid doing that.
So, I’m putting it on hold for a little while. I’ll probably publish the next chapter in early December, once everyone’s had a couple of weeks to read and digest The Baby.
Two weeks is an acceptable spoiler-free timeframe, I feel. After which time, I’ll start updating Sebastian again and people can feel free to analyse teen Sebastian vs. adult Sebastian. đ
