Ooooooh, I have so many things to tell you, this week! I was so very excited to get the cover for The Baby and I’m ecstatic with how the cover reveal turned out!

GABRIEL’S ALBUM – GABRIEL AND ARIANA
So, for those that don’t know, this is definitely not the cover for Gabriel’s Album! It’s the low-key temp cover that D made for me, forever ago, by slapping a sticker over the title in Facebook Messenger. With such very awesome skills, she should obviously go pro. 🤣
Anyway, I figured that I can talk about this book in the place of The Album because the stories go together. Has anyone else been listening to Folklore on repeat since it came out? No. Just me?
One of the songs is called “My Tears Richochet”. It’s another case where the vibe of it just reminds me of Gabriel and Ariana. Not all of the lyrics fit, but some are just so fitting.

It was listening to this song that made me realise that my thinking this book wouldn’t hurt to write was very optimistic.
It’s also because I’m up to chapter four…nothing dramatic has happened, yet, but just…being in Gabriel’s head. Seeing Ariana from his point-of-view, and knowing that I’m going to have to write through their whole story. Well, it’s going to hurt.
For those who have read The Album, remember the voicemail chapter? Yeah. We don’t get to just experience that time through voicemail. We have to be in Gabriel’s head. We have to see it all.
Why did I think this wouldn’t be hard to write? But…in the meantime, I’d equally forgotten how hot some of their sex was, so woo! That’s been fun, at least.
THE WEDDING – HEATHER AND HARRISON
Wowsers. Okay, so there’s no news about this book, as such. There has been an absolutely fascinating discussion going on about The Wedding on Goodreads.
I can’t one hundred percent elaborate on it here, because it’s straight-up Spoiler City. It’s about a pivotal plot point in the book. Again, if you’ve read the book, then yes…it’s about that.
People have some very strong feelings about this book. I knew that before I published it, though, remember when I spoke about my editor’s reaction to it? Well, the people in this discussion have pretty much the polar opposite view.
It’s fascinating that people can feel equally strongly about it but in different ways. At the end of the day, I feel honoured that people care enough to have discussions with me about it.
But, because of this discussion, I spent time on Friday writing chapter fourteen of the book from Harrison’s point-of-view. Holy. Shit. It’s, straight-up, one of the most devastating things I’ve ever written. I was in floods of tears when writing it and, in my opinion, it’s not even the worst chapter in his book.
Writing Harrison’s Wedding is absolutely going to be as gut-wrenching and awful an experience as I always thought that it would be. I’m going to have to write his book very slowly. Chapter by chapter. When I feel emotionally capable of writing it. 😢
THE BABY – LITA AND SEBASTIAN
There it is! Yay!
As I said, I had so much fun picking out quotes and giving info on the book. You can find all of the posts on both my Instagram and my Facebook. Some people don’t have Instagram, so I ended up posting to both.

There are 171,476 words in the English language and there’s still not enough to describe the amount of sheer relief that I felt at not screwing up that posting order! 🤣
Each one of those squares has some kind of info, sometimes just an excerpt, but for some of them I added some kind of context or background info, or just my thoughts about it.
I tried to make sure to pick quotes that wouldn’t be spoilers and I had so much fun. I thought I’d struggle to find enough, but I ended up finding too many!
Now, for the fun stuff. A couple of people posted on Facebook earlier that they’d already pre-ordered! So, I decided to do something special for people who pre-order!
I can’t remember if I mentioned this, but in one of the chapters near the end of The Baby, Sebastian goes off to have a conversation without Lita there.
As we know, I write from a single POV, so I had to rewrite that chapter from Sebastian’s POV to finish the book. I needed to know what happened in that conversation as it would affect the book’s ending.
If I didn’t write it, now, then when I write Sebastian’s Baby, I would have to make the conversation fit the end of the book. Instead of what happens in the end of the book being based on that conversation, if that makes sense?
So, basically, if you pre-order The Baby, send me an email and tell me you’ve done it. I’ll keep a list of the emails and if you contact me, again, after you’ve read the book (or at least up to the point where Sebastian asks Lita if she’s okay to wait while he goes and has a conversation, and she says yes), I’ll send you that chapter and you can read it an entire year before everyone else reads it in Sebastian’s Baby! 😘
