Well, hello there!

I hope you’re having an amazing day, today!

This will be a *gasp* short newsletter this week because I don’t have a lot of news to share. As usual, that will be in the Cruise Control update.

Before that, I have three giveaways, and two books to tell you about.

This BookFunnel giveaway has 45 books in it, lots of really good ones. I got Shared by Her Billionaire Bosses…why do I share my secret shame with you guys? Like…the billionaire genre is just so trashy, but I love it so much.

CRUISE CONTROL

Alright, so I don’t have huge amounts to update in the Cruise Control world.

Team Cruise Control is reading The Baby as we speak, and I’ve already started getting feedback. So far, people are loving it, which I’m happy about, of course!

Other than that, I didn’t get huge amounts of writing done in the Cruise Control world. I realised that rewriting The Album was massively emotional for me, so I’m giving myself a couple of weeks off from their world/lives.

I’ll update below with the relevant stuff, and there’s another excerpt from The Baby for you, as well.

GABRIEL’S ALBUM – GABRIEL AND ARIANA

Ah, Gabriel’s Album. So, all I did this week, was the work of going through the first six chapters and marrying it up to the new version of The Album. Emotionally, I wasn’t ready to dive further into Gabriel’s feelings after his fight with Ariana.

As I said, I’m giving myself one more week’s “break” from Cruise Control before I dive heavily back into it to ensure that Gabriel’s Album is ready for its March 14th release date.

HARRISON’S WEDDING – HARRISON AND HEATHER

So, I give so much of myself to these books, I don’t even know how to adequately explain it. In my infinite wisdom, I decided to take a crack at writing another chapter of Harrison’s Wedding.

It’s painful as hell, and I’m emotional even thinking about it. I do know that if I don’t push myself to write this book, I’ll be stuck doing it all in one go to get it done in time for its scheduled release date. I can’t do that. I just can’t.

So, I’m trying to write the hardest chapters first to get them out of the way. I don’t know if I’ll even be able to read this book when it’s finished. It’s going to be gut-wrenching, that’s for sure.

In the meantime, I’ve had to write some more light-hearted stuff to recover mentally. I wasn’t going to mention it here because that’s not what this newsletter is about, but at the same time, I always want to be totally honest with you guys. I’ve started a pen name just to write and release easier fiction.

So, that’s what I did this week. I wrote a short, 12,500-word novella about…want to take a guess? Billionaires. I figured I love them so much, I’d just write something easy and light-hearted.

It was really fun, and I have no regrets. My mum read it last night and she enjoyed it. As I said to her, “At no point did you feel like crying, though, did you?” and she confirmed she did not.

The Cruise Control books take you through the emotional ringer. They’re epically long and painful as hell, but feel so worthwhile in the end. What I wrote this week was just fun, easy to read, and enjoyable.

I won’t share it here, because that’s not what this newsletter is about, but if you’re truly curious and want to know, reply to this email and I will tell you the pen name. Because I can’t keep a secret for the freaking life of me, apparently! đŸ™„

THE BABY – LITA AND SEBASTIAN

So, not much to say, other than that this is with the advance readers, as well as my proofreader before it comes back to me to upload in time for the November 18th release date!

I’m keeping the excerpts to the first few chapters of the book, to avoid any spoilers because if you haven’t figured out that they have sex, and get pregnant, well…I don’t know what to say! I have a pretty low tolerance for spoilers, and even I wouldn’t consider that a spoiler in a book titled The Baby! đŸ˜‰đŸ€Ł

(I’m acutely aware there are other ways to get a baby, and I just wanted to acknowledge that for anyone who has had to go down that route. đŸ’—)

“We should play pool,” Sebastian said casually from beside her, and Lita whipped her head around to face him.

“For real?” She grinned with excitement.

Sebastian turned his head to look at her and, as their eyes met, she felt it again. The force of his physical presence was overwhelming her. He was looking at her with open curiosity. She watched as his eyes roamed over her body, down to her feet, then back up again. Lita could have sworn he was touching her, his gaze felt so intense. Then he smiled, and she couldn’t breathe at all.

“Yes, for real, do you want to?”

He was looking into her eyes again. She groped around in her brain for a response to his question. Her brain was helpfully supplying an alternative meaning to his question, one where he was asking her for sex instead. Finally, she accessed the neural pathways required to respond appropriately.

“Absolutely.” She forced a smile to meet his and hoped it looked more natural than it felt. “I love playing pool.”

Sebastian finally looked away from her, and Lita found herself wanting to pant to catch her breath. He laughed, and she thought the sound might be the most erotic sound she’d ever heard.

“Well, that’s two votes for pool, then. Does anyone else want to play with Lita and me?”

She almost moaned when Sebastian said her name. What the fuck had happened in her brain in the last five minutes? Lita was sensible, and she was smart. Too smart to get wet for Sebastian Fox, that was for sure. She was horrified by her body’s reaction to him and looked over at Hayden. He smiled back at her, and she felt
absolutely nothing. Just polite happiness to meet him.

“You know I always enjoy playing pool,” Hayden said with a smile.

“Lord knows why,” Harrison replied with a roll of his eyes. “What about you, Becky?”

“Oh, there’s nothing more enjoyable than playing pool with Lita,” Becky said dryly. “But if everyone else wants to play
” she trailed off with a shrug of her shoulders.

This comment was enough to draw Sebastian’s attention back to Lita and, god knew, she could not handle the force of it. She wished Becky had kept her mouth shut.

“You obviously like to play a lot, then?” He raised an eyebrow at her.

Why the fuck did everything that came out of his mouth sound like it had a sexual undertone? Probably because it did. Probably because it turned out Sebastian Fox was pretty much sex incarnate. Lita had always thought women slept with him because he was a gorgeous rock star, but even knowing what she knew about him, she could feel the effect his sexual magnetism was having on her.

“Yeah, I play whenever I get the chance. It’s fun,” she managed to reply.

She ignored Becky’s snort at the way she was playing down her skill at the game. Lita had grown up with a pool table in her family home. She’d been playing since she was so young she needed to stand on a stool to see the table and take her shots.

Sebastian threw an arm around her shoulders, far too casually, and said, “I think we’re going to be great friends, Lita.”

His hand seared her skin through her jacket; she could feel the pressure of it on her arm as he pulled her toward him for a hug. Lita’s body pressed up against his side, and she couldn’t stop her face from tilting up toward his. It occurred wildly to Lita, as Sebastian looked down at her, that he might kiss her. Their faces were so close now; she could imagine, to anyone who saw them, they would look as close as lovers.

Lita didn’t know if he’d had the same thought, but Sebastian certainly removed his arm from around her very quickly. He stood up abruptly, before announcing to them all, “Well, let’s go eat, then. The faster we eat, the faster I can kick people’s asses at pool.”

I think that, “…too smart to get wet for Sebastian Fox…” is one of my favourite internal thoughts from Lita’s head. It makes me giggle every time. But also, yeah, he’s pretty hard to resist even for someone as smart and sensible as Lita lol!

And that’s all from me, this week. As usual, I completely lied when I said this would be short. In my defence, I wasn’t planning to tell you about the extracurricular writing I did this week when I said that. đŸ˜

I hope you have a brilliant rest of your week. You can pre-order The Baby here and remember, if you do pre-order The Baby, you should fill out this form to get one of the chapters rewritten from Sebastian’s POV a year before anyone else gets to read it in Sebastian’s Baby. đŸ˜‰
